BEAGLES

Your Best Furry Friends

Why Beagles?

Beagles are wonderful dogs and make excellent family companions. They are great with children. Their medium size, low maintenance, and affectionate yet independent temperament make them ideal pets for many families. However, like any breed, beagles are better suited to some situations than others.

Beagles are hound dogs bred for many, many generations to follow a scent. It's their instinct. A garden with a fence is ideal for them. Young beagles are quite active and will be happiest in a home that provides a secure garden to play in.

Although this solution certainly makes life easier, in many cases it is impossible. Many owners live in the city and are also quite good at walking the beagle. It just takes more activity to keep them properly stimulated.

Do you work outside the home? Will your beagle spend eight or nine hours alone every day? If so, this may not be the breed for you. Beagles were bred to live and work in herds. They are happiest when they can live and be an active part of their family's lives. Beagles that spend too much time alone are beagles that have behavioral issues such as barking or destructive tendencies. The ideal home for a beagle is one where he spends no more than four to five hours a day alone.

Does barking, chewing, digging bother you? Not all puppies will have behavioral issues, but you will play a large role in your puppy's development. Do you have the time and patience to raise your puppy properly and be consistent in home training? Will you be attending dog daycare or obedience classes? As a breeder, we will do everything in our power to provide you with a well-socialized, well-behaved puppy, but when he goes to a new family, it's up to you to raise him properly. Do you have what it takes to give your new puppy the best possible start in life? Are you ready for the challenge?

We, as the breeders of your puppy, will always be here to answer your questions.
